Ugh. I gave up on the series around book 9 or 10 and said I’m not going to read any more of them until they’re DONE. I had to re-read all of them as well just because there are so many characters in that series, it’s easy to forget who a lot of them are in the 2-3 years between books. And I’m still going to continue to wait. Maybe they’ll be done before I’m 40. That’d be nice.

Well, the plan is to have the last one published in the fall of 2011. So, well before you’re 40.

Have you read anything by Brandon Sanderson? The Mistborn trilogy is good, and I liked Elantris. I’ll probably be reading Warbreaker soon, too. Actually, I’ll probably wait until that’s out in paperback. If you’re at all interested in what he has to say about being picked to finish the WOT series, he’s talked about on his blog (http://www.brandonsanderson.com/).

Have you been watching the 6-part Monty Python special on IFC this week?

The name sounds familiar, but none of those books/series ring a bell. It might just sound familiar from him being the person finishing WOT. Not sure.

And no, I haven’t watched the Monty Python special. We actually got rid of cable a few months back (not internet of course) and now just stream everything we watch through Hulu and Netflix. There is a program you can buy (30-40 bucks, depending on if they’re having a special) called PlayOn. It lets you stream Hulu, Netflix, YouTube, and a few other things to your TV through an Xbox 360 or PS3. It’s a little buggy, but works for the most part and has allowed us to axe cable altogether. The down side is you don’t know when things like, say, a Monty Python special is coming on since you’re not looking at a general program list very often. Still, we like it, and it also keeps us from just turning on the TV for lack of anything better to do since we really can’t. We have our shows that we’ve added to our queue to watch for the week, and then once those are done we don’t have anything to watch unless we specifically go onto Hulu or Netflix and look for something to add.
