I have a poisonous thumb

After I mentioned possibly starting an herb garden, Mom sent me a couple of links to cool and/or hilarious pots I could use to grow these as-yet-hypothetical herbs.

I think these pots can be found here, but they don’t look exactly right.  The two-tiered thing is very elegant, classic, and possibly the direction I should go in.  On the other hand, these crack me up:

Found here.

The problem (only temporary) with starting an herb garden now (as in this weekend) is that I will hardly be home to take care of the plants over the next two months.  And I don’t know how much cooking John will be doing while I’m gone, with or without fresh herbs.  I suppose I could ask him.  🙂  In fact, I definitely should ’cause I will need his help.  I’m not very good at keeping plants alive.  People?  Sure.  Pets?  No problem!  Plants?  Enter at your own risk.

  1. I saw the photo on the link to this post and was all set to congratulate you on your gorgeous garden! 😉 I love the two-tier number. Might have to grab one of those for myself!

I confess I like the faces. But then I’m more into whimsy perhaps than elegance. Who’d have thunk it?

Besides Mel … er Mindy … er I-feel-awkward-using-your-first-name-anyway-since-I-haven’t-actually-met-you-but-have-heard-too-much-about-you-to-not-use-it is right. It’s like a anti-evil amulet (a bit redundant maybe?) in your garden.

    Wait, that is Mel, right?

I’m having an odd day, in case you hadn’t noticed. I even called to wish my mother a happy Mother’s Day.

    Mother’s Day is tomorrow. Hm.

So are you going to stay anonymous until someone has guessed? (You can either log in and not be anonymous anymore or don’t log in and use the name/email/website fields.)

The only person likely to guess (besides you) is your mom, so I’ll come out. My name used to show up automatically, I didn’t have to type it in every time. It will take some getting used to.

I knew you were Jessica. Funny, I think it was from another anonymous post in which you mentioned Chuck. We should totally meet some time, since you guys have been friends for, like, forever. 😉

I’m automatically Sandwich these days. Z dubbed me; therefore, it is so. So you have a list of names you can choose from to call me: Mindy, Mel, Melvina, Melvin?, Sandwich, Sparky, Skinnamarink (or was I Dinky-doo?)

Me neither. One or the other. I do remember Butter Tub (and still think of: Butter Tub, snap … snap, Butter Tub *tune of Jitterbug). Weird, I know.
