Wild party, man

Here’s the aftermath of New Year’s Eve:

Yup.  We’re party animals.  We even went out to eat on our anniversary.  The actual day!  Can you believe it?

Portrait of the couple on their 12th anniversary

(Yes, that is my Hogwarts scarf.  Yes, we were about to go out to dinner to a fancy(ish) restaurant.  Yes, I wear my nerd regalia out into the world.  Oh, did I tell you I got a compliment on my TARDIS hat?  It was from a girl who works at Advance Auto.  Whovians are everywhere.)

  1. First, I’m so glad Roxy is doing better. What was going on that you knew she had liver problems? And have they told you what, exactly is going on if it’s functioning correctly?

Second, I agree that the goats are fake, but they’re really funny! Especially the second one. Loved the illusion guy. Very clever.

Jess, we took that picture on our anniversary, but that’s not the day I posted it. You’ve probably been right all these years.

Wombat, Roxy had a routine blood test(for her epilepsy) that showed some elevated liver enzyme levels. That and her paw issues (which are often a symptom of liver problems) drove us to the internal medicine specialist, who did an ultrasound (which showed a liver that appears to be failing) and another blood test (which showed that her liver appears to be functioning close to normally).

Her medications (the new ones) seem to be helping, and we’ll know soon if the change in diet helps her paws. They have NOT told us exactly what’s going on. I really don’t think her liver is normal, but we’re hesitant to go back and get more of a runaround when she seems to be doing so well.

When I get home, I’m going to watch some more screaming animals. 🙂 Also, that one video with the groundhog or prairie dog or whatever who shouts “Alan! Alan!” I can’t get enough of that guy.

  3. You’re a super dog mom. 🙂 She’s lucky to have you!

Sophie’s anti-inflammatories were doing bad things to her liver, so we use them very sparingly these days.

“Huh. That’s not Alan. It’s Steve. Steve! Steve!”

Happy anniversary! How did I forget to say that before? And holy cow is your house neat!

Thanks! The house is really only that neat a couple times a year. So I figured I’d take advantage and take a picture. 🙂

I hope Sophie doesn’t need her anti-inflammatories too often.
