Up 2 lbs. Ugh.
3 sets 20 lunges
3 sets 16 arm raises (side) with 5lb weights
3 sets 20 arm raises (front) with 5 lb weights
3 sets 20 bicep curls with 5 lb weights
3 sets 20 tricep extensions with 5 lb weights
1 hour Kukuwa dance class at the gym I’m thinking of joining – oh, this was fun. Awesome music, lots of fun, totally exhausting. Follow the link at your risk, though. The website starts playing music and talking to you, and I didn’t see how to turn it off.
Down 1 lb.
Took the dogs for an uneven walk/jog for about 20 minutes this afternoon. It’s one thing for me to run in the streets and dodge cars, and an entirely different thing when I’ve got two dogs on two leashes forgetting what training they have and trying to go in two different directions. I need the snow to melt and the sidewalks to be clear.
Standing ab exercises and lunges. I was watching TV and totally lost count, but I did stuff for another 30 minutes.
Today I weighed myself, so every day after this, I’ll include how many pounds I’ve gained or lost relative to today. Today’s weight is not pretty. It could be worse (it has been worse), but it’s not good. At least I have somewhere to go. Speaking of somewhere to go, I did not have the place to go that I expected today (more on that in the main blog), so I took to the streets again. NOT in the Egyptians-protesting-the-government sense. It’ll be a month before the sidewalks and trails are clear of snow unless we get a few days of summer weather soon. Unlikely.
Total time running: 29:37.
4 sets of 20 squats, the last three sets with a 5-lb weight in each hand
Wall sit for 30 seconds twice (but with a long break in between)
10 push ups. Real ones. Hard.
This was all in the early to mid-afternoon, which is not my favorite time to exercise.
I need to run more. I like it, and it’s a really good way to lose weight. So, I’m getting back on the eat-right-and-exercise wagon. Again. For real. None of this “Oh, I’ll just be careful about what I eat and make better choices and exercise as much as I can” crap. I’ll do that, sure, but I’m going to write it all down. At least the exercise part.
I don’t know yet if this will be just a tracking blog or if it’ll also be entertaining. Let’s hope it’ll also be entertaining, at least occasionally.
Today so far:
I ran for about 14 minutes with Roxy this morning, mostly in the street because many of my neighbors didn’t shovel their sidewalks yesterday. The streets were occasionally icy, too, so I walked when I didn’t want to fall on my ass. My mantra during my run: Limber up, Buttercup. Why did I need a mantra? Couldn’t tell you. Then I did 25 girl push-ups. I think I’m going to switch to real push-ups.
I didn’t weight myself today, but I will tomorrow, and I’ll call that my baseline. I’ll track day-to-day gains and losses from there. Here goes.
