Love Nnedi Okorafor, even though I’m not entirely sure I understand this one. It was short, and I wish there were more.

I wasn’t sure, using the title as my only clue, if this was going to be about actual killing or not, and I’m not going to tell you. But I will tell you that this was really good. I have plenty of sympathy for the main character (not total, for reasons), and I both hate and understand her sister. Sort of understand. Enough to understand the main character’s actions. Anyway, it’s good. You should read it.

Really good, really interesting, but a little tough to start. Once I was in, though, I was all the way in. The magic is super weird but in a good way, and at the same time, this is set in our future.

Third (last) in the Binti series, it’s an immediate sequel to the second one and doesn’t stand as well on its own, but it wraps up the trilogy nicely (and is still very good).

Second in the Binti series, Binti comes home on a visit from the university and finds trouble. Possibly better than the first one. SO GOOD.

Young adult novella, set in a future with tech that looks like magic. A young woman belongs to an insular African village and leaves it (runs away?) to go to an interstellar university. The first in a trilogy. SO GOOD.

Fascinating story that follows two families, descendent by descendent, across the centuries. One stays in Africa, one is captured by slavers and goes to the US.

It was interesting and not at all what I expected and I LIKED it but I didn’t love it. A kid and a teenager and a demigod and some sentient robots in South Africa.
