Happy Turkey Day!

Just a quick note to say Happy Thanksgiving to everyone.  We got up this morning around 7:20 and ran a very cold 5K.  Who knows what the official times will turn out to be, but I’ll get into that later.  Enjoy the day and don’t eat too much!  🙂

I suppose the idea of having a blog is posting a public diary but I am new to blogging so it still feels a bit like I hacked into someones email and was reading private thoughts. 🙂 Hi Zannah ! I just wanted to say that we did indeed have a happy turkey day and I am looking forward to you posting your time from the 5k. I enjoy running but I am just not all that great at it.

    Chuck 🙂

Hi, Chuck. 🙂 What do you mean when you say you’re not all that great at running? Do you trip over your shoelaces? Find it challenging to coordinate your arms and legs? 🙂 What do you mean? (I’m really asking, not just being a jerk and making fun of you, I swear.) I’ve never thought of running as something someone could be bad at doing. Do you mean you’re not very fast or something?

Well this is very embarrassing to admit but the reason I say I am not good at running is because my left leg and my right arm always get out of sync and the only thing that gets me moving at an awkward gait is to make loud motor boat noises with my lips. Jessica and Cody won’t run with me know because they don’t want people thinking they are trying to train a Special Olympian. Actually I am just not as fast as I want to be (yet) and I am bad with the discipline that it takes to be consistent. I was a solid runner when I had the will power to do it regularly. 🙂

See, I don’t think being slow makes you bad (or not good) at running. Being unable to run without making motorboat noises, though, will really hold you back. 🙂 To each his own, I guess.
