Geraldine Brooks needs to write more books

I stayed up late last night to finish People of the Book, by Geraldine Brooks.  I can’t believe it took me so long to get around to reading it!  What was I thinking?  I loved it.  I loved it more than March, despite that book’s Pulitzer Prize.  It’s been so long since I read Year of Wonders that I can’t compare the two.  And I can’t find my copy of Year of Wonders, so I can’t re-read it immediately to find out which I loved more.  At the moment, though, I’m leaning towards People of the Book.  🙂

I started The Eyre Affair this morning during breakfast.  I’m only a few pages in, but I think I’m going to really like this one, too.

Oh yeah, speaking of summer vay-cay: Where’s that reading list you were assigned to make for me? Mom gave me Guns, Germs and Steel so I can finally read that. And a friend of mine gave me Language Myths (I know you’re just DYING to hear about that one!), but other than that I got nuthin. HELP!

Well, read People of the Book. It’s awesome. I’ll work on that list. (It’s on my list of things to do, I swear.)

I found four more Jasper Fforde books when I set up the library (and finally got all of those books out of boxes). I haven’t read any of them yet, but I really enjoyed Eyre Affair.

Did I lend you People of the Book? I can’t find my copy, but it’s not the only book I’m missing, so I think there’s another box around here or a pile hidden somewhere that I haven’t located.

Nope, I don’t have it. We talked about it when I was over last summer, but I don’t have your copy. The copy I just read was one of my recent Amazon deliveries. 🙂 I do still have your Little Guide to the Well-Read Life (I’m sure I butchered that title), though. And Hamlet.

    I hope you find it!
