Jack hit peak baby today in the grocery store. He was wearing a romper (one piece, short sleeves, short pants), no shoes or socks, so his baby thighs and baby feet were visible in the car seat (which was in the grocery cart). He was looking around the aisles, kicking his feet, fingers in his mouth, babbling “ba ba ba ba ba” at everyone and no one. It was the cutest thing I’ve ever seen (or heard).
I regret to inform you that I did not get video, so you’ll have to take my word for it. Peak baby.

He was having an especially cute day today.
Zannah
I put a hat and sunglasses on him so no one would recognize him.
Erik
Yes, he is cute and cuddly now. Just about everything is adorable.
But, mark my words, soon enough he will be fixated on Pokemon. EVERYTHING will be about Pokemon. Every conversation, every question, and every drawing.
And you will wonder, he was was cute how did he become obsessed with cartoon dog fights?
🙂
Zannah
Why, Erik, you sound as though you have stories to tell! Did either of your kids go through a Paw Patrol phase?
Erik
I do have a story to tell. It’s called spending good money on far too expensive theater tickets for “Detective Pikachu.”
Chinatown it was not.
No, somehow we missed Paw Patrol. Octonaughts and Dinotrux were very much in vogue for several years. There was a short flirtation with Puffin Rock but luckily that did not last.
Zannah
Octonaughts and Dinotrux sound cool. Pokemon does not. Maybe if we keep him from making friends we can retain total control over the things he likes. 🙂
