Surprise concert!

John is carrying me off to a Canadian Brass holiday concert at the Kennedy Center tonight.  So this is the only update you get today.  (Work was actually really busy.)

Awww…Canadian Brass and holiday music! Did they play “Good King Wenceslas”? That’s my favorite for brass. Actually, I think that’s just my favorite Christmas carol in general, but particularly with brass.

They actually didn’t play all that many holiday-themed songs, considering. There were three (short) Hanukkah songs, they closed with “We Wish You a Merry Christmas”, they played “I’ll Be Home for Christmas” (which was gorgeous and as the solo trumpet played the last line (“if only in my dreams”), you could hear the crowd quietly singing along. It was beautiful.) and “The Christmas Song” as part of a medley, and I think there was one more, but I can’t remember what. No “Good King Wenceslas”.
